Hi, I am Kecheng Fang (方可成). I am an Assistant Professor in the School of Journalism and Communication at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). I received my Ph.D. in Communication from the Annenberg School for Communication, University of Pennsylvania in May 2019.
My research interests include digital media, journalism, and political communication, mainly in the Chinese context. I have been working on several projects examining the digital disruption in the information environment in an authoritarian regime, including how China's propaganda machine adapts to digital media and seeks to win hearts and minds both at home and abroad, how users creatively participate in online collective actions, and how media organizations respond to the changes.
